March Training Weekend

Some great news from the weekend! We’re proud to say that ‘Scout’ and Handler Richard, and ‘Cluanie’ and Handler Helen successfully underwent their re-grade assessments.

Every three years, every Search and Rescue Dogs Association (SARDA Wales) fully-graded Search Dog team has to undergo a re-grade assessment to make sure they are still working at a sufficiently high standard to remain on the callout list.

Both passed with flying colours. Well done!

The success continued with our other dogs, with Trainee Dogs ‘Gwyl’, and ‘Ginger’ being put through their paces with increasing difficulties in their exercises. Search Dog ‘Izzy’ enjoyed herself, with some short and fun trails. And lastly, Trainee Scent Specific Dog ‘Sion’ was successful in his discrimination test which sees him and his handler move on to more difficult stages of trailing.

A special thanks to Felin Bach Hostel for having us all weekend, Bryn Gloch Caravan & Camping Park who were kind enough to allow us use as a training venue and our lovely bodies who waited for the dogs in some terrible weather conditions. Thank you!

A good weekend all round!
